Dodie has been painting, writing (fiction, a family history biography, and poetry) and staying
very busy.  It isn't her fault that her web site got a little stagnant.  The web master of www.dodiemeeks.com is
her son Michael, and he sometimes has troubles with priorities.  But we're working on that.

Thank you for visiting and we hope you do again soon!

In 2010, Dodie attended the Rally to Restore Sanity in Washington, D.C.

It was a chance to visit family, too.

Since it WAS a rally, she created a sign...

Peace,
                    Dammit!

Her novels, Pretty Little Girls and Other Men's Wives and The Field are for sale on Amazon.com also.
When I Got Dressed Again, a collection of her poetry, was published by the The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake (TAACL).

The books:

Here's what others say about The Field

"A tale of murder and the unpredictable twists of human justice. Meeks’s characters, ripped full-blown from the fabric of the actual, are helpless puppets dangling from the thread of passion, jerked helter-skelter by the cruel puppeteer of fate. In seamless, elegant prose, she renders a world of spiritual and emotional chaos, assuaged momentarily by the mystical balm of art."
-Larry D. Thomas, Poet Laureate of Texas, 2008, and 2002 Violet Crown Book Award Finalist

"What a fun and intelligent read! Her wit and elemental humanity sparkle in surprising bursts and lift the story far beyond the ordinary."
-The Reverend Mark and Reverend Becky Edmiston-Lange, Emerson Unitarian Church, Houston

"Thought to be top-notch on the cellblock. Ms. Meeks’s work enables me to escape for a few hours."
-Ed "Mongo" Hamilton # 875302, Coffield Unit, Texas Department of Criminal Justice

Here's what others say about Pretty Little Girls and Other Men's Wives

"Read this book! It will keep you on the edge with laughter, surprise and suspense."
-Kay Taylor Burnett, The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake Founder/Director

"Warning: do not start reading this on a busy day. You will not be able to put it down. This tale of passion, humor, pathos, and pain is riveting."
-Coralie Bryant, Professor, Columbia University, New York

"Dodie Rocks!"
-Tina Snelling, L.L.P., Administrative Law Judge, Partner, Sheiness, Scott, Grossman & Cohn
